1st Annual Community Fun Day
Each day, an average of three children die as the result of child maltreatment. Thousands more suffer from some form of abuse or neglect. Russell County and the tri-city area are no exception.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. During this month and throughout the year, the Russell County Child Advocacy Center is dedicated to raising awareness about child abuse and neglect and what each one of us can do to help keep children safe.

The Child Advocacy Center will be hosting its first “Community Fun Day” to be held on April 11th at Idle Hour Park between 11AM and 4PM. It will be an event that signifies the importance of a community coming together to help their most valuable resource – its’ children. The event will have entertainment for the entire family and plenty of activities for the kids. The event will include inflatable jumpers, an inflatable slide, music, vendors, a hero’s corner, a dunking booth, and plenty of family fun games throughout the afternoon.
